"How to lose a customer"

On Wednesday 29th June 2011 my wife and I went to the loom & Shuttle as we often did on our way home, as we often did. However on this occasion we enterd the pub at 18.35hrs and walked upto the bar there was one member of staff standing at the end of the bar swinging a cleaniong bottle on her finger and yapping to some one paying no attention to those people wanting to be served. Dispite calling out to her on a number of occasions we were ignored and she eventualy walked away to clear a table over the other side of the room. At this point someone else appeard (perhaps the landlords wife) and walked behind us "is anyone serving?" my wife asked we were totaly blanked as she waked to the end of the bar picked up another cleaning bottle and walked off. At that point we walked out vowing never to returen. We have recommended this establishment to a lot of our customers who have visited it and agreed with us the food is of excellent quality but after this littel episode I dought if they will be coming back as well!!

The landlord may like to advise his staff that rather than yapping with their back to the bar they may like to keep an eye on who might need serving thereby doing the job they are paid for..
